Thanks to the generosity of our community partners, this year’s raffle features an incredible lineup of prizes you won’t want to miss. Every ticket purchased supports Miriam’s House programs to end homelessness in our community.

Abby Pinkard Art: “Empower”

Abby Pinkard is a contemporary painter based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She studied art and art history at New England College and earned her master’s degree in contemporary art from Sotheby’s Institute in New York. Before focusing fully on her painting practice, Abby worked as a muralist, gallery consultant, educator, and arts program director—always passionate about bringing creative energy to the communities she served. Now a full-time artist and mother of two, Abby paints from her home studio, drawing inspiration from both the beauty and the chaos of everyday life. 

“I aim to balance realism and abstraction using bold, deliberate brushstrokes and playful color combinations. Intuitive mark making, abundant texture, and unapologetic color decisions are the love language of my paintings. I feel most present in front of a canvas, striving to create work that please the eye and evoke an emotional response.”

Quilt by Leena Hart: “Snowball Variation, No. 1”

25” x 29” heirloom-quality quilt, hand-pieced and hand-quilted with cotton thread and polyester batting by local textile artist Leena Hart.

This piece reimagines a traditional snowball quilt design using hand-pieced quarter circles and meticulous hand quilting. Created with upcycled and thrifted cotton and polyester fabrics, this original artwork blends sustainability with time-honored craftsmanship.

Leena Hart is a Lynchburg-based artist who works primarily in quilting and visible mending. Inspired by generations of women in her family, she uses repurposed materials to create meaningful, modern pieces with a reverence for tradition.

Amy Gallagher is a Lynchburg-based abstract artist known for her bold, modern portraits inspired by tribal motifs and dream imagery. Using a blend of acrylics, textiles, paper, and mixed media, Amy creates richly textured pieces that invite connection and evoke emotion. Her process is intuitive and therapeutic, often beginning with faces she visualizes in dreams and bringing them to life through fluid, expressive mark-making.

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Amy studied Communication Arts with a focus in Graphic Design and Illustration at the Art Institute of Seattle. With over 25 years of experience in the design world, she draws inspiration from both her roots and her travels.

Kate McClure Art: “Sunset on the Street”

Kate McClure is a full-time artist in Lynchburg, VA. Classically trained as a portrait artist, in 2018 she expanded her business to include contemporary paintings. Since then she’s developed a following of collectors as well as gallery representation in Virginia and Georgia.

Kate’s work can be found in private collections across the country as well as the public collections of the American Cancer Society and Auburn University.

Alex creates art in her home studio in Lynchburg, VA. Alex’s work has been featured in shows at The Academy, Riverview’s Art Space, Magnolia Foods, St. John’s Church, and many other local venues. Currently the majority of her work can be found at Findings Art Gallery in Lynchburg, VA.

“I have been creating many different and unique pieces which include flowers, landscape, figure studies, as well as abstract pieces. I love to use texture in my work as I believe it helps to define the painting and make it come alive while truly expressing the feelings and depth it brings.”
