Central Virginia Supportive Housing
Our Central Virginia Supportive Housing program follows a Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) approach to ending chronic homelessness in the Lynchburg community. PSH is a proven solution for individuals and families who have experienced chronic homelessness and face significant barriers to maintaining stable housing due to disabilities, physical or behavioral health challenges, or long-term experiences of homelessness.
At Miriam's House, we believe that everyone deserves the dignity, safety, and stability of a place to call home. Through this community-based program, we partner with affordable housing providers throughout our community to help individuals secure and maintain permanent housing.
Once housed, participants receive intensive, individualized wraparound support from our dedicated team. Services are tailored to each person's unique needs and may include:
Housing stability planning and ongoing case management
Connections to physical and behavioral healthcare
Assistance accessing income and benefits
Employment and education support
Life skills development and budgeting assistance
Coordination with community resources and service providers
Crisis intervention and advocacy
Our approach is rooted in the belief that housing is the foundation for healing and recovery. By combining affordable housing with compassionate, person-centered support, we help participants build stability, improve their well-being, and strengthen their connections to the community.
Our Central Virginia Supportive Housing program doesn't simply end homelessness—it prevents it from happening again. Through strong partnerships and intensive supportive services, we empower individuals to maintain housing, achieve their goals, and create lasting change in their lives.
