Welcome New Board Members!

We are proud to welcome three outstanding community leaders to the Miriam’s House Board of Directors this year—Olivia Beavon, Helen Lundeen, and Rhonda Overstreet. Each brings deep professional expertise, a heart for service, and a shared commitment to ensuring families in our community have access to safe, stable housing.

Olivia Beavon

Vice President of Marketing, Foster Fuels

Olivia serves as the Vice President of Marketing at Foster Fuels, where she leads a talented team in strengthening the company’s brand and driving strategic growth. With a diverse background that includes marketing roles in the non-profit sector, Olivia is especially passionate about storytelling—sharing messages that reflect the heart and purpose of an organization.

She is excited to partner with Miriam’s House to help increase awareness and visibility around homelessness in our community and to amplify the impact of our mission. Outside of work, Olivia enjoys spending time with her husband, two children, and their dog. She loves running, being outdoors, and creating meaningful moments with friends and family.

Helen Lundeen

Accountant, Caskie & Frost

Helen is an accountant at Caskie & Frost, where one of her primary responsibilities is auditing Estate & Trust accountings filed with the Commissioner of Accounts. She enjoys working closely with executors, guiding them through complex processes with care and clarity.

Helen brings more than a decade of board service experience, having served on the Free Clinic board for the past 12 years. She is deeply motivated by organizations that address both immediate needs and long-term stability. Living in Lynchburg, Helen is keenly aware of the realities of poverty in our community and admires Miriam’s House’s focus on building self-esteem, encouraging a strong work ethic, and supporting families as they work toward lasting independence. In her free time, Helen and her husband enjoy traveling to visit their children and grandchildren.

Rhonda Overstreet

Founder & Principal, Overstreet Sloan, PLLC ATTORNEYS at law

Rhonda is a practicing attorney with 32 years of experience. She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and English from Hollins College before graduating from Washington & Lee School of Law with her Juris Doctorate. As the founder and principal of Overstreet & Sloan, PLLC, Rhonda focuses her practice on litigation, with a significant emphasis on family law.

Much of Rhonda’s work involves representing survivors of domestic violence, assisting clients with protective orders, divorce, and custody matters. She also serves as court-appointed counsel for individuals who lack the resources to secure legal representation. Through this work, Rhonda has witnessed firsthand how housing instability, lack of resources, and crisis intersect—insight that will be invaluable as Miriam’s House continues to serve families navigating complex challenges.

These new board members join a dedicated group of community leaders who generously offer their time, insight, and leadership to help find lasting solutions to homelessness.
