HOME (Homeless Outreach and Mobile Engagement)

The HOME program is provided through a partnership with Community Access Network (CAN). CAN offers outreach and engagement services to unsheltered individuals in the Central Virginia region. These services are aimed at assisting the most vulnerable homeless individuals by connecting them with shelter, housing and other critical resources to provide safety and stability.

Who does HOME serve?

Unsheltered homeless households in Central Virginia, such as an individual sleeping overnight in a place not meant for human habitation (a car, park, abandoned building, bus or train station).

What does HOME offer?

Outreach workers locate, identify and build relationships with unsheltered households experiencing homelessness. These staff provide housing-focused case management, which includes assessing housing barriers and connecting our homeless neighbors to housing as quick as possible.
