Miriam's House is a residence for homeless women living with AIDS, including some who have children. Compassionate attention is given to the housing, medical, personal and spiritual needs of our residents.

Miriam's House offers comprehensive services and support for recovery and sobriety. These services support a transitional program for women who recover health and move on to independent living. Miriam's House also serves as a hospice for women who are living their last days.

In-house services include addiction counseling, secondary medical care, respite care for mothers, support groups, financial counseling, personal care aide, transportation to appointments, and the loving support of a compassionate community.

Off-site services include physical, occupational, and speech therapies, medical care, counseling, acupuncture and alternative therapies, adult HIV/AIDS daycare, and NA/AA meetings.

Miriam's House has been recognized for it's outstanding service to the Greater Washington, DC area.  They were awarded the Washington Post Award for Excellence in Non-Profit Management in 2003.

Most recently, Miriam's House was selected for the 2005 Catalogue for Philanthropy.
